Capacitor technologies for demanding environments

The customer-approved portfolio includes aluminum electrolytic capacitors, conductive polymer solid capacitors and supercapacitors.

Aluminum electrolytic

Formats identified in the approved material include radial, SMD, snap-in and screw-terminal constructions. Selection depends on voltage, capacitance, ripple current, operating temperature, physical envelope and required service life.

Conductive polymer

Conductive polymer solid capacitors provide a technology option where low ESR and high-frequency characteristics are important.

Supercapacitors

Supercapacitor technologies address high-energy storage requirements and should be evaluated against voltage, energy, cycling and thermal conditions.

Applications

Reliability connection

MarlinTek's reliability capability includes E-cap lifetime calculation using operating ripple current, core temperature and rated-temperature information.
